Neal’s Update: Porch Remodel in Montgomery

Project Story:

Download our Free Outdoor Living GuideIn 2013, Neal’s finished up a major remodel on the backside of this Blue Ash home, including a new stone-faced addition. When looking at the front of their home afterward, the homeowners felt that something needed to change that allowed the stone from the back to tie to the front. This new, grand entrance was the answer. The primary benefit of the new porch is the large roof that allows the homeowners to enjoy the view of their street and easily visit with their neighbors even on the sunniest days. Having a porch roof and a new double front door also improved how they could welcome guests into their home, particularly on rainy days. The porch also took care of one subtle detail that has been a key factor for the homeowners throughout all their renovations– accessibility. The entry walkway and porch floor gradually incline to meet the front door with no steps or barriers, creating a universal-design entrance that will allow the couple to easily age in place with style.
