Project Story:
To create a private outdoor room at this Montgomery, OH, home without blocking the view to the woods at the back, a octagonal pavilion was installed at the end of the driveway. Two solid walls (one for the fireplace and the other for the grill) provide privacy screening, and motorized shades in the open archways allow the room to be used year-round. The retreat is connected to the home by a stone path that splits to head down into an oriental-inspired grotto before heading across the back yard to a new deck. Providing entertainment and hang-out spaces through-out the year, this award-winning outdoor living project relies on traditional styling and practical materials.
